House Fire Displaces Residents In Gloucester Township

A fire destroyed a home leaving several Camdenb County residents homeless over the weekend, authorities said.

On Sunday, April 9, at approximately 12:36 p.m., Gloucester Township police responded to 59 Oak Ave. located in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township for a dwelling fire. 

Arriving officers found heavy smoke coming from the rear of the residence. 

As Gloucester Township Fire Departments were arriving, officers ensured that the residence and neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution.

Gloucester Township Fire Departments from Chews Landing, Glendora, Blenheim, Blackwood, along with Runnemede, Magnolia and Bellmawr Fire Departments arrived and quickly gained control of the fire. 

The home was occupied with several residents who were able to evacuate safely prior to Police and Fire Department arrival.
